A message from your Apra Canada President and Conference Chair
Welcome to the Apra Canada 2022 Conference. My name is Katherine Scott and I am President of Apra Canada and Chair of this conference. It is a great privilege and joy to gather once again to share our professional expertise and experience among colleagues. Over the course of three days we will have the opportunity to learn and reflect on our roles within our organizations, connect with our peers, generate new ideas, celebrate our champions, and reimagine the future of our sector.
To begin, on behalf of Apra Canada I would like to acknowledge that from coast to coast to coast, our work takes place on the ancestral and unceded territories of all the Inuit, Métis, and First Nations people that call this nation home.
We do this to reaffirm our commitment and responsibility in improving relationships between nations and to improving our individual and collective understanding of local Indigenous peoples and their cultures.
This event would not be possible without the outstanding support of our industry partners. Thank you to Platinum sponsor iWave, Gold sponsor CharityCAN, Bronze sponsors DAFinitive (from the Helen Brown Group) and Grant Connect, as well as supporting sponsor Tracey Church and Associates.
To the volunteers who stepped forward to share their skills and dedication in service of Apra Canada, you have my sincerest thanks and admiration. You took on the challenge of executing this wonderful event despite the uncertainty and unique logistical challenges presented to you, and you did so with grace and the utmost professionalism.
Our conference agenda is packed with interesting sessions and engagement opportunities. Whether you are attending in person or online, I invite you to bring your authentic selves, your energy, and your expertise. Please introduce yourself to other attendees, ask questions, and meet with our industry partners. Please also take good care of yourselves.
After the conference I hope you will participate in our feedback survey to share your ideas and thoughts. The volunteers who plan these events rely heavily on your feedback. Please also consider participating in future conference planning, as a volunteer, or as a board member. If you want to learn more about future opportunities, please join the board meeting on Friday where we will present the new strategic plan, or ask a volunteer about their experience.
If you have any questions or comments or need any assistance, please email me at conference@apracanada.ca and I will be glad to help.
Thank you once again for joining Apra Canada. I wish you a gratifying and inspiring conference experience.
