The Apra Canada Board Election is held in November of each year. The number of available positions on the Board will vary depending on current vacancies.

In October of each year, the Apra Canada Board Secretary will send out a call for Board nominations to the current membership via e-mail, with an attached nomination form. Eligible Apra Canada members are given a month to submit nominations to the board via the Board Secretary.

Each Board candidate must display a willingness to be an active participant of a working board for a two-year term and must:

  1.  Be an Apra Canada member in good standing
  2.  Have been an Apra Canada member in good standing for the six (6) month period preceding the nomination
  3.  Have at least six (6) months of experience in advancement research

As we are a Chapter of Apra International, the 3 officer positions on the Board (President, VP/Treasurer, and Secretary) must also be current members of Apra International.

Apra Canada directors are elected generally to the Board, and roles are determined after new directors have been elected, based on vacancies. Although we will try to match directors with areas of interest, we cannot guarantee that new directors will be matched with their top choice in their first year on the board. Further information on Apra Canada Board job descriptions can be found here.

Please note that as Apra Canada is a registered Society in the Province of British Columbia, the Board must have at least one representative from BC. It has always been the Board’s goal to be geographically diverse, thus we seek greater representation across geographic areas and industry sectors in Canada on an ongoing basis.

All nominations received by the deadline will then be reviewed to determine the slate of candidates that will be presented to the membership for an online vote in early November (via a voting link which is sent out to the current membership through e-mail). Note that only current Apra Canada members are eligible to vote in the election.
