Reporting to the Director, Research Analytics, a Research Analyst is being sought as a critical member of the Governance and Advancement Services team to build our donor pipeline by identifying new prospects aligned with Sinai Health’s priority areas, liaise with foundation colleagues to develop and maintain engagement strategies, and to complete research profiles, lists and other research products to support the strategic priorities of the Sinai Health Foundation.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Research and analyze prospect backgrounds, wealth indicators, interests and relationship with Sinai Health in an effort to identify and qualify individual, corporate and foundation prospects, with a particular focus on major gift ($50K or greater) and principal gift ($5M or greater) level prospects that have an interest in supporting Sinai Health
  • Monitor appointment notices, awards and honours lists, major newspapers, obituaries and other public news sources to stay abreast of significant developments, trends, and events that impact on the Foundation’s fundraising strategies and the philanthropic environment
  • Prepare detailed prospect profiles, lists and other ad-hoc requests from internal and external stakeholders to support fundraising campaigns, initiatives and strategic planning.
  • Support prospect management activities, including prospect tracking, portfolio assignments and analysis, and pipeline management
  • Conduct regular analysis and reviews of portfolios that are primarily comprised of emerging major gift and leadership donors
  • Ensure major gift prospect records in our database (Raiser’s Edge) provide valid and reliable information for internal stakeholders
  • Add and maintain campaign tracking processes and prospect strategies on prospects and proposals within our database and evaluate the need to increase prospecting efforts for specific priority areas as required
  • Manage multiple competing requests from internal and external stakeholders under tight and changing timelines.

Job requirements:

  • A successful completion of a degree or diploma in a related field from an accredited educational institution. Proven equivalent and recent related education, training and experience may be considered
  • 3 – 5 years of related experience in prospect research or a fundraising environment preferably within a large, dynamic not-for-profit environment (exposure to a fundraising environment is considered an asset)
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to communicate in a tactful and professional manner with diverse groups
  • Highly adaptable, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines without foregoing attention to detail and data integrity
  • Demonstrated aptitude for analyzing and interpreting data, and for synthesizing complex information from multiple sources
  • Strong qualitative and quantitative analytical and research skills is considered an asset
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in Raiser’s Edge and/or other fundraising/CRM databases is required

Salary range: The salary range for this role is $62,749 to $78,436.
