Shannon Moon is an experienced not-for-profit executive specializing in fundraising strategy, research, analytics and operational excellence. With more than 25 years of experience across healthcare, education, youth, arts and social services, she brings a deep understanding of how data, systems and strategy intersect to strengthen fundraising performance.
Before joining KCI, Shannon held senior roles at the University of Toronto, Branksome Hall, The Royal Conservatory of Music, Pathways to Education Canada and Michael Garron Hospital Foundation. At U of T, she helped build the infrastructure for Canada’s first $1 billion academic fundraising campaign. At Pathways, she built much of the fundraising infrastructure at an early stage in the organization’s development, helping drive a major inflection point in overall fundraising performance, with a focus on strengthening annual giving, donor engagement and program growth. At Michael Garron Hospital Foundation, she served as VP, Events, Annual Programs and Operations and was part of the team leading the Heart of the East Campaign, acting as a strategic enabler while overseeing annual giving and events that generated up to $4 million annually, alongside operational functions that supported overall fundraising performance.
In her role at KCI, Shannon uses research, benchmarking and analytics to help charities make stronger strategic decisions and raise more money. Her work has included co-leading KCI’s 2025 Hospital Foundation Compensation Benchmarking Study and leading the 2026 Campaign Trends Report. She has supported clients including U of T, CAMH, Trillium Health Partners, Breakthrough T1D, Daily Bread Food Bank, Mackenzie Health, Toronto Symphony Orchestra, Werklund Centre, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada, Arthritis Society Canada, Campfire Circle, Covenant House, Habitat for Humanity, Scarborough Health Network Foundation and Simon Fraser University.
