The Division of Advancement promotes York University's teaching and research priorities by engaging our diverse community of alumni and friends to build long-term mutually beneficial relationships to secure philanthropic support for the University's students. Our team is comprised of four (4) departments:1. Advancement Services and Operations leads efforts to support the Development and Alumni Engagement teams2. Development leads efforts to promote and secure philanthropic support from alumni, donors, parents, and friends3. Principal Giving, Donor Relations & Stewardship leads effort to secure principal giving and is responsible for the full scope of activities related to donor relations, including stewardship and recognition4. Alumni Engagement provides programs and services to over 325,000 York alumni worldwide. Our mission is to inspire and cultivate meaningful engagement and philanthropic support within our diverse communities to advance York University's excellence in education, research, and community service. We accomplish our mission through our values of accountability, collaboration, and entrepreneurship. The Associate Director supports this mission by developing and implementing strategies to support the University's alumni engagement, prospect research, prospect tracking, and data analysis programs. Specifically responsible for presenting data integral to the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of alumni, corporations, foundations, and friends. setting strategic direction. conducting proactive prospect research. initiating and managing data analytic projects related to internal and external data sources, with a special focus on modelling projects identifying trends and prospects supporting the University's strategic planning initiatives. leading a team of prospect researchers to successfully deliver this value added information and analysis that support the fundraising and campaign efforts. and managing special projects, including supporting governance recruitment initiatives as well as slate development for University awards.

To be considered for this opportunity, you will bring the following:

University degree, in business, commerce, library science, information management. Master's in library sciences would be an asset. A minimum of 7years of professional experience in analytical, research, or information specialist role preferably in a higher education setting. Experience in managing a staff of prospect researchers in support of fundraising and alumni relations activities. Minimum of three (3) years' experience in a leading role managing a team in a fundraising context. Management experience, preferably in a unionized environment.
